Chinese Lantern Festival 2007

Last Thursday, JW and I went to Ontario Place to see the Chinese Lantern Festival. It’s on until October 7th, 2007 .. so if you want to go there, you have few more days left to go! :P
We chose Thursday because it’s less busy so I could happily take my pics without bumping into people .. hehe. We were there for about 4 hours, and it didn’t seem to be enough .. you know, looking at things, watching some performances, and playing with my camera (this seemed to take a lot of time .. LOL!) .. but it was fun.

So today, instead of going to Buffalo and shop like other people (yes, Canadian $ hit parity with the US $ .. so it’s cheaper to get some goods across the border) or checking out Nuit Blanche all night (I’m getting old .. I seem to like it better just to curl in front of my computer haha! Hmm .. maybe next year I’ll go check it out), I’m going to go through my pictures and pick some nice ones to post. Yupe, I’ll post them over a few days again like last year … moahaha!

Here’s one sample … on the left side is the Terra-Cotta Warriors:

That picture is a blend of 3 pictures with different exposure (normal, +2, -2) .. it’s my first try with the High Dynamic Range (HDR) thingy. It could get addictive .. lol. Hmmm .. note to self: get a bigger hard drive space.

And just in case you need a refreshment … here are last year’s 14 Days of Lantern posts: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6 | Day 7 | Day 8 | Day 9 | Day 10 | Day 11 | Day 12 | Day 13 | Day 14 | Extra Day

  • I’m using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 (the latest) which pretty much has everything that a photographer needs. It’s got HDR manipulation stuff, too. I love it. Of course, all I need now is a decent camera, lol… so I can use the HDR manipulation stuff.

That’s an awesome photo… and HDR experiment. Good stuff, girl.
