Lantern Day 16: Grand Gates of Qin

After Emperor Qin unified China, he declared Xianyang as the capital. He ordered the construction of a tall wall around the city, with a gate in the middle of the wall; Anyone who wanted to enter the city was subject to stringent interrogation. This Capital Gate became the symbol of the Emperor’s security.
